Few people owned cars and roads were primitive, compared with todays standards. The people of Orchard Park were served by the Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburg line. This railroad started in downtown Buffalo and ran through Orchard Park, Jewettville, West Falls, Springville and Salamanca.

The Orchard Park Train Depot, one of only two in Erie County, is still maintained in its original condition, thanks to the WNY Railroad Historical Society. The Erie RR ran through Hamburg and Gowanda and still exists today, bringing the Strates Shows on the annual Fair Train to town each August
