COVID-19:
Donation of materials is on hold at this time. We look forward to your generous help in the future.
In the meantime, consider donating to the Little Free Libraries around town. See our COVID-19 News for locations.
All the Book Cart, Book Nook, eBay and Book Sale merchandise is donated by generous patrons of the Orchard Park Public Library.
Visit our BookNook/Cart/eBay and our Book Sales webpages to learn more about these sales!
Acceptable donations include:
Please do not donate:
The condition of materials donated is important! For health and safety reasons, we are unable to accept items that are damaged, wet, moldy, buggy, have a strong odor, chewed, burnt or dirty.
You can bring donations to the library at any time during library hours. You may leave them on the bench in the lobby or ask one of the library staff for assistance with a larger or heavier donation.
Up to five (5) medium sized boxes or bags will be accepted once a day.
If you would like a receipt for tax purposes, please see a librarian at the Information Desk. It is helpful to have a count of each type of material (paperback, tradepaper*, hardcover, DVD, etc.) so this may be listed on your receipt.
BAGS AND BOXES ALSO WELCOME
Wegman's or Orchard Fresh bags (paper or plastic) can be donated any time. These are used during the bag sale days of our book sales.
Empty paper case boxes or sturdy cardboard boxes are appreciated to help us safely store the books and materials until our next sale.
*Tradepaper book is the name for the mid-sized paperback books. Larger than a “pocket” paperback, these are sold for more on our Book Carts and Book Nook and count as a more valuable book for a taxable donation.
