Annual Halloween Bash

Superheroes to protect Halloween Bash

at OP Library Oct. 26

Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library & Superhero Alliance join forces to bring safe fun to annual party

They’re coming!

The Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library received word recently that some famous villains may be trying to disrupt (in a fun way) its annual Halloween Bash. so we’ve enlisted our local Superheroes to help us out. They are suited up and ready to serve, but watch out - those villains can be tricky!

Want a chance to see your favorite comic book Superhero (or Villain) in real life? Then come to the 5th Annual Halloween Bash at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Orchard Park Public Library, 4570 South Buffalo Street, in Orchard Park.

The event is FREE and open to the public!

“Children – and adults – are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costume for a little safe Halloween fun. We are happy to welcome back members of the Superhero Alliance.  Last year more than 400 people walked through the and were astounded by the presence of some Superheroes and Villains that stood 7-feet tall,” explained Victoria Sturman, president of the Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library. “This year is bound to be even more fun and exciting!”

Due to the size of last year’s party, the Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library added a few new activities to the party such as a Trick-or-Treat Halloween Scavenger Hunt and a few fun craft activities for all ages. Also new this year is Storyteller Annemarie Jason, who will be telling silly, spooky Halloween tales in the Community Room of the library at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m

Refreshments will be provided. Little ones will be able to decorate their own small bag to use while on the trick-or-treat scavenger hunt.

The Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library is a 501(C) (3) nonprofit organization supporting the Orchard Park Public Library. Through its membership, donations and book sales, the Friends provides the Orchard Park Public Library with exceptional resources and services for its patrons and the community.

The Superhero Alliance traces its start back to a fundraising event in 2014. Afterward, several Superheroes stayed in touch and continued their efforts to raise money and awareness to local causes in the community. In 2015, this group of volunteers began working in conjunction with the Buffalo Bandits and the Buffalo Bisons to plan Superhero Nights. Now the Alliance makes many appearances across WNY in efforts to spread joy and “do good” for worthy causes. Visit. www.superheroallianceofwny.com  or “like” them on Facebook for more information.
