4th Tuesday presentation to feature the NASA Moon Launch: 50 Years Ago
The Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library is pleased to announce that Richard Herskind, a NASA engineer who worked on the Surveyor 1 space craft, will present “The NASA Moon Launch: 50 Years Ago” at its next 4th Tuesday Speaker Series presentation on Tuesday, October 22.
The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. at the Orchard Park Public Library, 4570 South Buffalo Street, in Orchard Park. This is event is FREE and open to the public.
Please join us as Mr. Herskind presents The NASA Moon Launch: 50 Years Ago. After a brief tour of the solar system, Mr. Herskind will discuss NASA’s attempt at a controlled landing on the moon as a precursor to sending the Apollo Astronauts to walk the surface and the challenges encountered in this attempt.
The next 4th Tuesday lecture will be on Tuesday, November 26 and will focus on the continuing restoration of the Orchard Park Train Depot and the Buffalo Central Terminal, as well as the use of the Train Depot in The Quiet Place 2.
